We understand that birth parents may not be sure about making an adoption plan.
If a birth mother does not choose adoption, FRC will work with them to create a plan that reflects their specific needs, decisions and wishes.
We respect birth parents who wish to take an active role in adoption planning and choose the adoptive family.
At
FRC we have a large number of waiting potential adoptive families - these are people who are waiting to welcome
a child into their lives..
We acknowledge and accept that birthmothers and adoptive parents have many different positions regarding openness in adoption.
Birth mothers and birth fathers have the right to know and understand all of their options - ranging from open adoption to closed adoption and every possible position in between. Contact can range from in person meetings to simply letters and pictures, or to no contact at all. One of our adoption counselors would be pleased to speak with any birth parent or family member about what level of contact is comfortable and practical for you.
Family Resource Center believes that embracing "openness" in adoption is healthy for all parties in an adoption, and we also firmly believe that birth parents have the right to create and design their own adoption plans.
We know that many birth mothers and birth fathers will need support
and understanding.
That's why we have compassionate,
experienced, professional adoption counselors available
whenever you need someone to talk with - 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week. Call us at (773)
334-2300 or toll free at (800)
676-2229
We realize that the adoption isn't "over" when your child is placed.
Adoption is a process, so we offer post-placement support and services.
