FRC Celebrates at Annual Spring Gala

19th Annual Spring Gala

On Saturday, May 3rd, event Co-Chairs, Mr. and Mrs. David Flood hosted Family Resource Center’s 19th Annual Spring Gala at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Rosemont. More than 250 people caught up with old friends, made new ones, enjoyed a delicious dinner and successfully bid on hundreds of exciting auction items.

The evening began with cocktails in the hotel’s Atrium, where tables were laden with colorful baby baskets, sports items, framed prints, and certificates galore for everything from hotel stays and baseball tickets to horseback riding lessons and spa treatments. Friends mingled and “shopped,” circling back to check on the bidding for their favorite items. After the usual mad rush to get that final winning bid in before the tables closed, guests moved downstairs to the dining room, stopping first to have a photo taken by the photographers from Artistic Attitudes who donated their services for the evening.

Following dinner, a video of FRC children and families set to music brought smiles and cheers from proud parents, and reminded everyone why they were there – to support the work of FRC. The highlight of the evening for many was the live auction. The winners came away with some exciting items which included tickets to the Oprah show, a Brett Favre autographed helmet and an Orlando vacation package complete with tickets to Disney parks and Sea World.

All in all, it was a tremendous success, and as the last of the guests picked up their auction items, the planning committee was already thinking about next year, when the Spring Gala will mark Family Resource Center’s 20th Anniversary.
