Placing a Child for Adoption

Birth parents facing an unplanned pregnancy and considering adoption frequently experience intense emotions and challenges. At Family Resource Center our caring and experienced staff is here to help - all day, every day. Though we are a Chicago adoption agency, we serve throughout the state of Illinois and across the country.

We are able to provide adoption counseling services, either in person or on the phone, at any time and place that is convenient and practical. We can also offer practical support like assistance with obtaining medical care, coming up with ideas for meeting living expenses, and temporary housing for those who have nowhere to stay. Our birthparent counselors can even work with birth mothers to find ways of discussing their unplanned pregnancy with family and friends. We are here to help birth parents think about their options, and develop adoption plans for their baby if that is the route they choose.

Respect for birth mothers and birth fathers is a central part of our philosophy and our domestic adoption program. At Family Resource Center birth parents find honest answers, accurate information and support  - whatever they decide. Our agency always works to ensure that any adoption plan places the needs of the child above all else. Domestic Adoption
At Family Resource Center we help birth parents and adoptive parents understand adoption and the adoption process so that they can make informed and well considered plans. We respect and support birth mothers and birth fathers who want to take an active role in choosing the adoptive family for their child. At Family Resource Center hopeful adoptive parents find help every step of the way. Our trained staff understands the unique challenges and opportunities of domestic adoption. Our role in the adoption process is to ensure that all parties have the information they need to plan for their child's future. Our agency is committed to treating birth mothers and adoptive parents with the respect and consideration they deserve.

International Adoption
Family Resource Center is a Chicago adoption agency whose reach extends around the world. Our experienced staff has helped hundreds of couples and individuals to navigate the complicated and ever changing process of international adoption. Members of our staff have traveled many times with families overseas and understand the hopes, joys and challenges of international adoption first hand!

Our China Adoption Program works with hopeful adoptive parents from start to finish: from helping individuals to understand the process, to preparing dossiers, to accompanying adoptive parents to pick up their Chinese daughters.
